#FFFRuns - The Graffiti Run Results

So this past weekend Fierce.Fit.Foodie. participated in the 5k Graffiti Run.  The Graffiti Run was a run similar to the popular Color Run where you pretty much start off as a blank canvas and color is thrown on you and you end the race a colorful mess.  The race also took place at Six Flags which helped to give nice scenery (or so we thought).

Our teams consisted of a team of four girls and below you can see our before and after pictures.  Overall I would say the run wasn't too bad.  None of us were training for this race properly so the results were pretty decent.

Here are some pictures from the event.

Fierce.Fit.Foodie plans to participate in more 5k runs in the future and we hope that you guys will join us.

Product Review--Wiccy Magic Muscles Moisture Massage Bars

Massage bars are another LUSH invention and where would the world be without them? Lovely solid bars of moisturizing butters and gorgeous essential oils melt directly on warm skin instead of messing about with bottles. Plus, they're preservative-free pleasure for both your conscience and body.

Price:  ($10.95) From LUSH Handmade Cosmetics

Product Description:
Wiccy Magic Muscles is our spicy massage bar for aching muscles. The first time you use one of these, it you’ll notice the sensation of peppermint and cinnamon spice oils which make the skin feel warm and tingly. The red pieces on the top are aduki beans, which work into the muscles like firm fingertips for a relaxing massage. We’re using our new aeration technique on our Wiccy’s to make them melt into the skin easier, making for a soft, smooth massage. When you’ve worked yourself into a pretzel in yoga class, or had a long day on the slopes, head home and convince someone to rub this one in. Ahh, that’s better.

How to Use:  Glide the massage bar directly over dry skin; it will melt upon contact. Massage or rub the oils into the skin. As massage bars are made with natural butters and oils, take care to ensure they absorb completely before putting on your best pj's. Massage bars melt at body temperature, keep yours somewhere cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight.

My Review:
I must admit I was a bit skeptical about this product and how it would work, but for some odd reason purchased it anyway as I've been hitting the gym hard an doing Hot yoga 4 times a week for the month of May. Even my first time trying it, since I didn't feel anything immediately I thought it was a fail. Boy was I wrong! About a minute or so after applying to my skin I felt all warm and tingly. The sensation is analogous to putting on Vix vapo rub. I can't describe how amazing tired and sore muscles feel after a nice hot shower and using this bar at the end. Heavenly! Not to mention it's also moisturizing so no need to lotion up after you get out the shower. And yes I said no need to lotion. No you will not be ashy. I promise.

The aspects I didn't so much love:
  • While the thought of the aduki beans massaging "like warm fingertips" is great, they don't (IMO) live up to that. They definitely did not add any value in my opinion. **Also, once the bar gets toward the end of live, the beans start falling out (ie they all over the place), and well--I don't appreciate the mess.
  • Price--Given that this is marketed toward fit folks/athletes (whom I'd presume workout at least 3x a week), if you used this after each work out, well, it wouldn't last long. $11 per bar seems like a lot.
  • Once it gets to about 1/4" in thickness it is prone to break. Which I suppose is expected but annoying none the less.

Would I recommend this product to a friend? Absolutely. It really does make your sore muscles feel amazing. Have you tried this product? What did you think of it? Comment below, and be sure  to share with a friend!
