Directions: Use this super sculpting, incredible sheen enhancing pomade on wet or dry hair to create perfectly sculpted curls and to smooth down rough and unruly edges.

TIP- Use on wet hair for a soft hold or on dry hold for a strong hold.

Ingredients: Water, Ceteareth-25, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Glycerin, Isostearyl Isostearate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Passion Fruit Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Maize Starch, Panthenol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance.

My Review:

Oh. EMMMM. GEE. Okay, I'm not for real still this excited/amazed since I've been using this product for months but I am still sharing because I want ya'll to know how amazing it is! I literally was in Target randomly one day checking out what was on the shelves, saw this product, thought it sounded interesting, like something I needed, and thought 7.99 was a decent asking price. So I bought it. LOVE AT FIRST USE. For real yall. I primarily use it for twist outs (last product right before twisting) but I also use it as "edge controller" as well. As far as twist outs go, I use it on fresh ones (damp/wet) and retwists (dry), and get great definition with both. It gives a hold that isn't crunchy or drying but just enough to truly hold your intended style. My two main struggles are frizz and twist outs going 'limp' after a few hours. Thankfully this paste remedies both.

As far as using it as an edge controller, my hair is very thick and I've found that just about all other edge controllers I have tried (except one) don't even come close to being able to hold or control my hair. Also, many of them leave residue and buildup, or flake! This lovely magical product however, does none of the above. You could use it everyday if needed without your hair feeling gross or flaking, which beyond providing hold is all a girl could wish for right?!

Description wise, it is a true paste and has the consistency of any pomade and as with all CURLS products (at least the ones I've used thus far), the smell is fruity and pleasant. $7.99 may seem like a lot for this little jar (4oz), but a little bit truly goes a long way. I've had one jar for at least two months now, and I use it at least 2-3 times a week.

Would I recommend this product to a friend? ABSOLUTELY. In my opinion this product delivers fantastically on its claims and is reasonably priced. I suppose since I've been using it a while now its a staple product? I'll claim it. I will continue to use it regularly.

  • Instant Curl Poppage! I mean instant. The curls were like "Ma'am, you called?"

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Carboxymethylcellulose, Fragrance (Parfum), Pectin, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Panthenol, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Simmondsia Chinesis (jojoba) Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernal Oil, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot Seed) Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, Vitis Vineifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Lonincera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Laminara Cloustoni (Sea Kelp) Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Hydrolyzed Silk, Silk Amino Acids, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Chamomilla Recuitita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Equisetum Arvense Extract, Agave Rigida (Sisal) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

My Review:
  • Has a really 'snotty' yet thick consistency. It is similar to other comparable products but thicker in my opinion.
  • Pleasant coconut smell.
  • I did notice some white residue the next day, but it was only in certain areas which leads me to believe I was heavy handed or did not properly distribute. It seems less is more with this product.
  • I was shocked at how great the hold was and yet my hair was still soft. No crunch at all.
  • Great definition--My curls were poppin'!
  • The only thing I didn't like was that my hair seemed to have shrunk much more than usual--so the elongation claim didn't pan out for me.
I think this product works well, but I probably need to try it again to figure out how to eliminate that bit of white residue. This residue issue is a pain point for me because, well who wants to walk around with flakage (yea, I made that up one time for the neologisms) in their hair? So for that reason I'd hesitate or recommend this product with caution.
